Doodle: a free needlework chart for any craft
Instead of doing a secret code stitch pattern, I was doodling around on graph paper, and here we are: a chart. It can be used for stranded knitting or whatever else one might make that uses a chart like this.
I might play around with this in weeks to come. Look for variations!
- Designers, please feel free to use this in your patterns. I’d like credit but won’t be offended if people don’t give it.
- If you like my posts like this, please consider supporting me on Patreon or donating with my Paypal tip jar in the sidebar. Thanks!
It’s remarkable as it is, although I wonder what happens to it if you try to mosaic knit it. I say this because, if I’m not mistaken, it would be possible to do.
Thank you! You have guessed my plans for one of my blog posts next week. It makes a very different look, just as effective.
Here it is November 2023 and others have copied your ‘doodles’ concept without giving you credit as the original. For myself, I will honor and recognize you for this delightful original and unique interpretation of knitting.
Hi, thanks for looking out for me!
But I don’t think you need to be concerned. I’ve seen several people working on a colorwork doodles sock pattern that seems entirely unrelated to my work. There’s nothing wrong with using the name “doodles”; it’s not trademark. And if it includes this stitch pattern, I’m still not worried about it. Please see the note under the chart above:
“Designers, please feel free to use this in your patterns. I’d like credit but won’t be offended if people don’t give it.”
This means I’ve given people permission to use the stitch pattern for anything they like!
