Spring version 2: a needlework chart for any craft
Years ago, I came up with four coordinating needlework charts for the four seasons, as well as four knitting stitch patterns, but I didn’t really have a good routine for publishing them yet. I’m going to redo the four needlework charts Here is Spring. (I can see signs of it arriving around here, which is hopeful.)
I actually made two needlework charts for spring. The first version of Spring was before I realized I could make all four seasons coordinate with each other.
Here are all the various blog posts for the four seasons.
- Spring, version 2 has a repeat of 4 + 1 columns and 34 + 1 rows. (If you don’t want a stitch pattern that’s that tall, you could use either rounds 1 – 18 or rounds 18 – 35, and still have all the code included.)
- In the written instructions, color A is the light squares above, and color B is the dark.
- The written instructions below are formatted for stranded knitting, but it is my hope that they could be translated into instructions for other crafts. For instance, if working filet crochet, 1A could be one open square and 2B could be two filled-in squares.
- Designers, please feel free to use this in your patterns (no need to ask). I’d like credit but won’t be offended if people don’t give it.
- My blog posts and free stitch patterns are supported by subscriptions on Patreon or donations to my Paypal tip jar in the sidebar. If you appreciate my work, please consider helping out. Thanks!
