blog news
I have some news that makes me melancholy, but it can’t be helped.
Starting on June 30, I will be putting my Patreon and blog on hold for the foreseeable future. Before that date, I plan to finish up the Patreon word for next month; after that, things will be paused indefinitely. (Patreon backers will not be charged money until I can return to work.)
I am making this choice because I have a health issue that is making work difficult for me, and I don’t know when or if it’s going to stop. (It is something disabling that might turn out to be chronic.)
In future I might still design some patterns for sale and do some other writing, but I’m not certain about that. It will depend on several different factors, many of which are still in flux. If you stay subscribed to my Patreon or blog, you will receive news when I have it.
Thank you all for following me. It has been a blast, and it’s the work I’ve had the longest. I will miss it and I hope I can return to it someday.
Thank you so much!
Naomi
I’ve learned so much from your posts over the years—your method of embedding meaning in stitches was truly eye-opening. Wishing you rest and recovery, and looking forward to whenever or however you return.
Thank you so much!
Sorry to hear this…I hope it’s just a glufosinate or other New Roundup reaction 😉 Your blog and web presence will be missed.
You’re one of the people I constantly point to as an example of a fine combination of art and engineering — I hope rest, recovery and good things are in store for you.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Dear Naomi,
I just recently found your blog and am absolutely thrilled, delighted, and stunned by the variety and the total creativity of your work. It has been inspirational to say the least. What a mind you must have to be able to “cast about” and envision the seemingly never ending patterns. It is such a great pleasure to see, and work with, your patterns.
I wish you all success possible in this difficult path, and hoping it does not become chronic. Hoping you have brilliant medical care, either traditional Western, or alternatives, and there is a wonderful light at the end of the particular tunnel.
Warmest Regards,
Mary H
Thank you so very much!
I’m slow to post, but sending you live and endurance and as much healing as possible.

Hi folks! If you’ve ever considered “what season am I?” when it comes to colors, seasonal color analysis can be a major breakthrough for understanding which palettes truly flatter your skin tone, hair, and eyes. For example, if you’re looking into the deep summer color palette, it’s celebrated for its cool, muted shades that work excellently with olive and yellow undertone skin tones. There are numerous free tools out there, like color analysis quizzes and AI-driven apps, that can help you determine your unique season without too much trouble—check out deep summer type for a fast and simple color evaluation.
Also, don’t neglect that your hair colour plays a significant role in seasonal analysis, especially with popular trends like hair colour 2026 highlights or cool summer hair colors. Some virtual hair color try on tools let you experiment with new looks to see what suits your season best. Whether you’re studying dark winter vs dark autumn palettes or trying to match the right clothing colors for yellow skin tone, learning your seasonal color palette makes deciding on outfits and makeup considerably more straightforward and more fun!
